Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose SG POA to master your POA?
1. Credibility
-
Being an ex-MOE teacher differentiates Mr Wynn Khoo, Mr Anthony Quek, Ms Amber Wan and Ms Raine Lee from many other tutors. They were trained by MOE for the transition of syllabus and they are able to understand the syllabus well.
-
What the syllabus entails (mainly book-keeping) is vastly different from the actual real world accounting.
-
Our teachers also keep themselves abreast of the updates in syllabus and the occasional disclosure from Cambridge to MOE teachers, to provide the best quality academic guidance for the students.
2. Ability
-
An accountancy graduate or an accountant may know how to do book-keeping, however, being able to practice accounting does not equate to being able to teach accounting.
-
Our teachers are able to deliver the lesson in a concise and easy to understand manner to help our 15 and 16 years old students understand accounting concepts that leaves many working adults baffled.
-
They possess the ability to engage students using real life examples to make the lessons interesting and meaningful. It helps the students see POA as a useful and meaningful subject rather than one that requires them to memorise in order to score a good grade for exams.
3. Personality
-
Our teachers are sincere, committed and patient.
-
Having taught in a school setting, they understand the common difficulties that each student faces for the subject.
-
Dedicated to tackle the problems that students usually encounter by putting all efforts to help them and not leaving any one behind.
How will I benefit from the POA tuition lessons?
Students will undergo a highly effective programme that closely monitors their progress. Our teachers will make use of specially designed quality lesson materials e.g. exam papers, personalised notes to tie up with learning strategies that will maximise students' potential in scoring for Principles of Accounts.
Students will be tested at different level of difficulties for each chapter, through the careful selection of questions, which will increase the students' ability to cope with tough examinations. The strong emphasis on understanding concepts and not memorising is our underlying teaching philosophy.
Graduating students will also go through a series of exam preparation time trial which follows the O levels requirements very closely. The practice will allow students to identify their weak chapters, and together with professional coaching, it will prepare them to be exam-ready before their prelims and O levels.
Our methodology has a proven track record of lifting the POA grades of students from a D to F, to an A and B grade.
Where is the venue of POA tuition classes?
Group POA tuition will be conducted at Bishan (Beside Junction 8), Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Jurong East (Beside Jurong Regional Library) and Parkway Centre. Many students do travel from far locations such as Boon Lay, Seng Kang and Changi to attend our POA tuition classes because they find value in attending our lessons.
Do you have trial lessons?

Can I still join the POA classes at the mid or end of year?
Yes, getting help at the last minute may not be the best option. However, you will definitely find the classes beneficial and still see improvements in your understanding of the subject and also the end results.
May I request for one-to-one lessons?
Our tuition classes are catered in the form of group lessons. You may arrange for a trial lesson to experience the effectiveness of our lessons for yourself.
In contrast to home POA tutors who may not have the relevant teaching experience and structured lesson materials in place, our teachers are able to form up detailed lessons plans that optimize lesson delivery. Through interactive group discussions, students are able to gain a better and deeper understanding of the subject content. This is supported by the proven track record as shown from the quality results produced and positive testimonials from former students.
What are the payment terms?

Otherwise the lesson recording for the week will be sent to the students to catch up on the missed content. There will be no other refunds or pro-rating of the fees.
